Happy NEW YEAR!!!  2017 is here—a new year filled with months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and even seconds that have never been used.  A clean calendar—with no mistakes!!! Yet…..
Oh, the value of our time.   With the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day—but not so to us. Our days seem to fly by like a rocket ship.
We are all given the same amount of time each day, twenty-four hours, or 1440 minutes- and my, how fast it goes.  It is said that a mind is a valuable thing to waste, but so is your time.
God’s word talks about time.  Ephesians 5:16 tells us to make the best use of our time.  Colossians 4:5 mentions making the best use of the time.  And we all know that “to everything there is a time”.  “We must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day; night is coming , when no one can work,” John implores us.
Let us encourage you in this New Year to use your time wisely.  Make time to rest and rest well; your body needs rejuvenating.  You need to work hard, having something to do and doing it to the best of your ability is good for your psyche.  There is time to laugh, so laugh daily and often; it relieves tension and boosts your immune system.  Love unconditionally, that is how God loves you, so reciprocate!  And in doing these things, put God always first.  Let your day begin with Him on your heart and keep Him there all day—playing in the background of your life.  Let Him add flavor to your reactions and opinions.  Let Him use you to spread His sweet fragrance as you walk in the spirit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control.  Exude His freshness as His spirit permeates your entire being.  Feed your spirit man with Godly things so that you will be alert to any sneak-up attacks of satan and thereby give him no room in your life.
Giving God your time, making sure that your day is well-fortified with Him, that He is on your heart, that you are diligently seeking Him will be a great beginning to this new and unmarred year.   Let 2017 be one that starts well and ends well, that is filled with His Word and His Spirit, living comfortably in You.  Only God knows what 2017 can hold for you when you give Him your time. Every day—all 365 of them!!
